Attend an Event
Wreaths Across Canada will hold its annual ceremony at the National Military Cemetery (NMC) at Beechwood cemetery in Ottawa at 1:30 pm on the first Sunday, of December each year. See section 2.2 for details of how to get to Beechwood.
The event will begin with a brief ceremony lasting about a half hour. Following this we will invite families and friends of those buried in the NMC to place wreaths on their particular graves and then the general public will place wreaths on all the other headstones. Every who attends will be a part of the process and team of volunteers will assist you. We have about 3,000 wreaths to put on the headstones so you may be able to deposit more than one wreath.
It is anticipated that there may be snow on the ground and it will be cold so dress warmly with suitable footwear. Should you bring warm drinks, please be sure to take the containers with you when you leave.
Bring your camera as the sight of the hundreds of wreaths on our veterans' graves is something that you will want to record and share.
